BFRC Energy Rating
From the 1st October 2010 all windows must have a Thermal Transmittance (U Value) of 1.6 W/m2.K or lower (i.e. Window Energy Rating C or above) and doors have to have value of 1.8 W/m2.K..

Improved security

Window shoot bolts - These are engaged when the window handle is closed, which pushes out two metal pins into the actual window frame, making it harder for someone to force entry through one of the window openers.
